Activities and Events

As an active club we meet in person once a month on the fourth Thursday at Farmborough Memorial Hall (19:30 – 21:30).

On the other Thursdays we meet on Signal chat starting at 19:30.

We hold a 4 metre net every Tuesday except the first in the month at 19:30 on 70.475MHz.

On the first Tuesday of every month we have a social meeting in a local pub. Again starting at 19:30.

Next Meeting - January 23rd 2025

Turn your Android phone into a modern ham radio transceiver.

What is it?

KV4P HT is a homebrew VHF radio that makes your phone capable of voice and text communication completely off grid.

The radio simply plugs into the USB C port on your Android smartphone and transforms it into a fully-fledged handheld radio transceiver. It’s completely open source (GPL3): the Android app, ESP32 firmware, PCB designs and 3D printer files.

It’s small enought to fit in your pocket and take anywhere, and since it has no internal battery it’s the perfect radio to put in a go bag or your car’s glove compartment.

John, G4OTJ will be demonstrating this neat project at the BADARC meeting at the Farmborough Village Hall on January 23rd 2025.
