Bath And District Amateur Radio Club
Welcome to BADARC
On the following pages you will find information on Amateur Radio and how to go about becoming a licenced Radio Amateur.
BADARC was formed in 2013 and is a small group of radio enthusiasts. We meet once a month at the village hall in Farmborough, weekly on Signal and hold regular on-air nets. We are affiliated to the RSGB and are registered as an exam centre for paper and on-line exams.
New members are always welcome. See the “How to find us” and “Activities and Events” pages for information on meetings and nets.
If you would like to contact us please leave your name and email address below and we will get back to you.
Next Meeting - Thursday November 27th
For this month’s meeting, we are fortunate enough to have Liz (G8HEH) giving us a talk on
‘Analogue Computing for Noise Reduction’
The talk is in three parts:
1) An introduction to analogue computing and where it offers advantages over digital computing.
2) An explanation of how op-amp circuits are used to form the elements of an analogue computer.
3) A trip through the history of sound recording, why gramophone records had scratch added and how analogue computing can be used to remove it from the sound.
As usual, we would appreciate it if all members could make an effort to attend this meeting to give Liz a large audience.
